Embed IPTC DigitalSourceType (XMP) metadata in rendered images + clarify AI status
Use case: e-commerce product images for Google Merchant Center. Google's product data spec (image_link) says "All images created using generative AI must contain meta data indicating that the image was AI-generated" and not to remove the embedded IPTC DigitalSourceType property (values: TrainedAlgorithmicMedia, CompositeSynthetic, AlgorithmicMedia). Two requests: 1) Clarification (docs/FAQ): are the renders produced by generative AI, by a 3D/raster pipeline, or a mix? Neither the docs nor the terms say, so merchants cannot tell whether Google's AI-metadata rule applies to Car Image output. 2) Feature: embed an XMP Iptc4xmpExt:DigitalSourceType tag (with the value Car Image deems correct, e.g. http://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/trainedAlgorithmicMedia or algorithmicMedia) in JPEG/WebP/PNG output, ideally on by default or via a parameter such as metadata=true. Currently the JPEGs we download contain no XMP/IPTC segment at all (checked the JPEG markers). We re-upload them to a shop platform, so having the tag already in the file would be the simplest way to comply. Also helpful: a statement in the docs on which DigitalSourceType value Car Image recommends for Merchant Center feeds.
